According to 90min, Josko Gvardiol, the RB Leipzig center-back, is likely to join Real Madrid, despite interest from Premier League clubs such as Manchester, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
Gvardiol on Madrid’s radar
The Croatian defender is said to be eager to finalize a deal with Los Blancos as soon as possible.
Gvardiol has a release clause worth €110m (£97m/$119m) in his contract which can be triggered in 2024.
While Leipzig wants to keep the defender until then, Gvardiol may leave in the next transfer window. He reportedly wants to join Real Madrid.
Real is considered the favorite to sign the 21-year-old despite interest from Premier League clubs. The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool all want the Croatian.
Real Madrid has shown interest in signing the Croatian defender, and they are currently leading the race to sign him.
However, Real Madrid is also interested in Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham. So it remains to be seen if they can sign both players for a significant sum of money.
