Barcelona midfielder Pedri is poised to make his return from a three-month injury absence this weekend.
Barca midfielder Pedri sustained a muscle injury during a training session on August 24 and, while it was initially anticipated that he would return after six weeks, his recovery was delayed. Nevertheless, he is now ready to be back in action this weekend.
Xavi revealed on Friday that Pedri should be ready to play this weekend: “He’s available and at 100%. To me he looks ready and it’s great news for the team.”
Pedri had initially targeted El Clasico, which took place last weekend, as an ideal return date. However, Barcelona’s medical staff determined that he was not fit to play against Real Madrid. Unfortunately, Barcelona lost that match 2-1.
Barcelona will face Real Sociedad next, and then they will travel to play against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League midweek.
