Barcelona seem to be preparing for future transfers despite their current financial difficulties.
Barcelona officials are aware of the immense talent possessed by Florian Wirtz, who is currently one of the most thrilling young players in Europe.
Fortunately for the Blaugrana, the teenager is also a great admirer of the club, as he revealed in an interview with Sport.
He said: “When I was little I always wanted to play for Barcelona. That hasn’t changed, but there’s still some time to be able to fulfil it.”
Speculation suggests that Barcelona contacted Wirtz’s father, who also serves as his agent, regarding a possible move to Catalonia in the future. However, the player is unaware of any such developments.
He added: “I haven’t heard anything about Barcelona yet. I haven’t heard anything about it and was also surprised when I read it.”
Barcelona are eager to acquire young players who can contribute immediately, and Wirtz is undoubtedly among them.
Nevertheless, their financial condition will impede any move for the time being.
In addition to Wirtz, Barcelona will also compete with Arsenal to sign Roque.
