Barcelona’s new money-making scheme involves selling diamonds made from Camp Nou pitch!

Barcelona’s most recent financial initiative includes the sale of diamonds crafted from the old Camp Nou pitch.

Barcelona’s online shop introduced several new items, which include single-carat diamonds priced at €15,000, made from the same carbon as the Camp Nou grass. Additionally, half carat diamonds can be purchased for €2,500.

According to Cadena Cope, advanced technology has been used to extract carbon from the grass and crystallize it, resulting in these diamonds. Each diamond will be accompanied by a certificate from the International Gemological Institute, confirming that the diamond is ‘laboratory grown’ and has ‘zero environmental impact,’ and it will also detail the jewel’s characteristics.

Barcelona’s financial challenges are widely known, and the club is making efforts to generate revenue from their old Camp Nou stadium, which is currently undergoing redevelopment. This involves selling items like goal netting, turf, and other pieces of memorabilia.

Barcelona will use the Montjuic Olympic Stadium as their home ground until at least November 2024 while the Camp Nou undergoes reconstruction. Xavi’s team currently holds the third position in La Liga and is leading in Champions League Group H.
