The Madrid general assembly has greenlit renaming Real Madrid’s training ground after their current beloved club president Florentino Perez.
The 2023 Real Madrid general assembly is currently in progress, and amid the regular agenda items, the club’s senate is poised for a significant vote.
Earlier this year, over 1000 members advocated for renaming Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex in honor of Florentino Perez. Initially rejected, the idea was added to the agenda due to demand.
The club will announce the decision during the general assembly, but The Athletic has reported that the club senate has approved the decision. As a result, the training complex will now be named Ciudad Deportiva de Florentino Perez (Florentino Perez Sports City).
Perez has been at the helm of Real Madrid for 20 of the last 23 years since 2000, showcasing his enduring commitment to the club. This commemoration is a well-deserved acknowledgment of his contributions.
