In 2024, Atletico Madrid captain Koke prepares to dedicate the remainder of his career to the club he has adored since boyhood.
The veteran midfielder breaks the club record for the most appearances in all competitions for Los Rojiblancos, with 599 games, and he is going to reach a milestone with his 600th game later this month.
The experienced midfielder currently enjoys a break from action, as Spain did not choose him for duty in this window. However, his place in the squad for Euro 2024 is essentially confirmed already.
Koke will reach 600th games with Atletico in the current month
The club still needs to resolve the issue of his future at Atletico, as his current contract expires at the end of the season.
Koke and Simeone both aim to resolve the situation promptly, and the star born in Vallecas has no other goal than to continue at Atletico.
He told reporters as it reported by Mundo Deportivo: “I’m in a very sweet moment in my career. I hope to continue helping the team win games, which is what I want most. I’m one step away from 600 games and that is spectacular.
“But, I don’t think about ‘what I have left’, I think about winning titles.”
