David Alaba denies rumors of Bayern Munich return

David Alaba, the Real Madrid defender, has refuted rumors suggesting that he is contemplating a comeback to his previous club, Bayern Munich.

As a teenager, the Austrian defender relocated to Bayern, accumulating 13 years in Germany, including a one-year loan spell at Hoffenheim. In 2021, he departed Bayern and joined Real Madrid on a free transfer after participating in 431 matches for the Bavarian giants.

Over the last 12 months, Alaba has faced challenges with injuries and form, leading some to connect the 31-year-old to a potential return to Germany.

David Alaba told Fabrizio Romano: “I’m not thinking that far ahead. I feel very comfortable in Madrid.”

“I like Real Madrid and I have very clear goals. My thoughts are not anywhere else.

With another two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, Alaba will be 34 by the time it expires. The prospect of Bayern paying an exorbitant amount to bring him back seems highly improbable.

With Carlo Ancelotti in charge, Alaba is expected to thrive at the Santiago Bernabeu. Ancelotti consistently includes Alaba in the lineup when fit, deeming him a crucial element of the defense.
