Real Madrid legend backs Zidane to replace Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid legend Guti supports the idea of Zinedine Zidane taking over as the manager next summer, replacing Carlo Ancelotti.

The Real Madrid coaching situation has been under intense speculation in recent months. Carlo Ancelotti is expected to depart when his contract concludes at the end of the season.

Considering this, several candidates have been linked to potentially succeed the Italian coach if he decides to leave. Xabi Alonso is currently the top contender. However, Zinedine Zidane has also been mentioned as a possible choice for his third stint in charge at Real Madrid.

Guti, a Los Blancos icon who shared the field with Zidane during their playing days, expressed to El Chiringuito that he believes Zidane is the best choice to succeed Ancelotti.

“I’d like to see Zidane at Madrid. Why not? I think there are coaches who can stay for a long time and can spend many stages at Real Madrid. That’s because they are ideal for that team. Not for a long time, as is the case with Ancelotti.”

Zidane could be a surprising choice for the Real Madrid bench. Since leaving the club in 2021, he has been without a managerial position, and some were not pleased with his second stint in charge. Many would prefer a fresh face to take on the job.
