Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso praised Carlo Ancelotti, the current manager of Real Madrid and his former coach.
His impressive start to coaching with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen has led to predictions that the former Los Blancos star will become a future manager at Real Madrid.
If Carlo Ancelotti decides to leave when his contract concludes at the end of the season, rumors suggest that the club prefers Alonso as the choice, and there is no information regarding an extension for the veteran Italian.
Real Madrid plans to observe the season’s development before deciding on Ancelotti’s future. Brazil remains confident that they can lure him to Rio de Janeiro in 2024.
Leverkusen will face a challenge in retaining their head coach in the upcoming months, as Alonso’s existing contract with the BayArena extends until 2026.
However, Alonso hinted at his admiration for Ancelotti, raising the possibility of the two crossing paths again in Madrid next summer.
Xabi Alonso told AS: “In terms of human management, Ancelotti is the master. When you talk about how you want to convince players, or how to get the players to have a good relationship with you, Ancelotti is the master of it all”
In his initial tenure as the head of Real Madrid, Ancelotti and Alonso collaborated successfully in the midfield, securing the 2013/14 Champions League title together. They were later reunited at Bayern Munich, where they triumphed in the 2016/17 Bundesliga.
