Spain coach Luis de la Fuente claims that Brahim Diaz intends to play for the Spanish team and will reject the offer from Morocco.
In recent months, there has been considerable discussion about Brahim Diaz’s international future. Morocco has expressed a strong desire to include the Real Madrid star in their squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, commencing in January.
Nevertheless, Brahim is also qualified to play for Spain, for whom he made his solitary appearance in 2021. Starting next year, he has the option to change his allegiance to Morocco if he wishes. However, according to La Roja manager Luis de la Fuente, it seems unlikely, as reported by Diario AS.
De la Fuente said: “The important thing here is the conviction of the players to be in one place or another. (Brahim) wants to play for Spain. He’s Spanish, and I celebrate his performances (for Real Madrid) because he’s one more who joins the cause.”
Brahim has showcased impressive form for Real Madrid in the recent weeks, and if he can sustain this performance until the end of the season, he stands an excellent chance of earning a spot in the Spain squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
