Sevilla have no plans to sack Diego Alonso

Sevilla has no intentions of dismissing the manager Diego Alonso despite finishing at the bottom of their Champions League group.

Sevilla‘s disappointing season persisted on Tuesday as they were eliminated from Europe by Lens. Despite a 2-1 victory over the home side, Los Nervionenses concluded at the bottom of their Champions League group with only two points. They failed to secure a win in any of their six matches.

Diego Alonso has yet to secure a victory in any of his 11 non-Copa del Rey matches since taking charge in October. Despite facing considerable pressure, the Uruguayan is set to remain in charge for the time being.

According to Relevo, Sevilla’s leadership maintains faith in Diego Alonso’s ability to reverse the club’s fortunes. The board see improved performances by the team. They are convinced club executives that positive results will follow in the upcoming weeks.

Sevilla faces a crucial match this weekend, hosting Getafe at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Securing three points is essential for initiating a turnaround in their fortunes for the remainder of the season.
