Real Madrid could see five players return to action from injury in January

Real Madrid could witness the return of up to five injured players ahead of the Spanish Supercopa in January.

Injuries have posed significant challenges for manager Carlo Ancelotti’s team this season, with the recent loss of David Alaba to an ACL injury adding to the woes.

However, as the team enjoys its winter break, there is optimism that right-back Dani Carvajal and winger Vinicius Junior may be back in action for the January 3 match against Mallorca.

Carvajal, recovering from a muscular injury, and Vinicius, overcoming a thigh injury, are expected to be available for selection by Ancelotti.

Looking ahead, Ancelotti is optimistic about the potential return of Eduardo Camavinga, Ferland Mendy, and Arda Guler in time for the Supercopa.

Madrid will kick off their Supercopa campaign with a semi-final against Atletico Madrid on January 10, with a potential final against either Barcelona or Osasuna.

Camavinga, who has been sidelined since November with a knee injury, Mendy, recovering from a recent muscle problem, and Guler, the Turkish teenager who has faced delays in making his debut due to knee surgery, are all expected to travel to Riyadh to join the squad.

The hope is that all three players will be available for selection during the tournament. Camavinga and Mendy are anticipated to return to the pitch after their respective injuries, while Guler may finally make his debut in the Supercopa after experiencing setbacks in his recovery.
