La Liga may not lose one of its most promising youngsters as Oihan Sancet aims to move clubs within the league
Athletic Bilbao’s Oihan Sancet is one of the most talked about La Liga players due to his sensational form. The 22-year-old is heavily linked with a move to either Chelsea or Liverpool but he might stay in La Liga after all.
Oihan Sancet, the hattrick hero
Sancet, who recently scored a hattrick against Cadiz, is currently Bilbao’s top goalscorer in La Liga. Despite being an attacking midfielder, Sancet has equaled Inaki Williams’ tally of goals so far.
His growth as a player in the past few seasons has been undeniable, to the point that SAncet is now one of the most talked about midfielders around Europe.
This has garnered attention from the Premier League clubs, especially Chelsea and Liverpool. However, it’s being reported that it might be unlikely that Sancet moves out of La Liga in the summer.
Reportedly, Real Sociedad are interested to make a move for the Basque-born player if they qualify for the Champions League next season. Oihan Sancet’s contract with Bilbao runs until 2024 and the club might have to sell him if they don’t reach an agreement on a contract renewal.
Sociedad may be Oihan Sancet’s best move since their own midfielders’ future is uncertain. Zubimendi, Merino and David Silva can all leave in the summer. Plus, Sociedad may be the only suitor that can offer Oihan Sancet Champions League football, looking at Chelsea and Liverpool’s situation in the league.
