After Villarreal’s impressive 3-2 win against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, an alleged incident between Federico Valverde and Alex Baena occurred post-match, casting a shadow over the result
Marca reports that Federico Valverde allegedly punched Alex Baena in the parking area of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium after their recent match.
The incident reportedly stemmed from comments Baena made during a previous match between the two teams in the Copa del Rey in January, which were related to Valverde’s unborn child at the time.
Baena might take things to the Police
Valverde’s partner experienced a scare of miscarriage, but fortunately, everything went well.
According to Marca, Valverde allegedly punched Baena in the Bernabeu’s parking area because of comments made by the Villarreal player during their Copa del Rey match in January, relating to Valverde’s unborn baby.
The Villarreal midfielder reportedly told Valverde to “cry now that your son is not going to be born” after fouling him during the match, and another incident between the two players is said to have triggered Valverde’s anger, leading to the alleged physical altercation.
Baena has since responded to the allegations, which he strenuously denied in a post on Twitter.
As of now, there has been no official statement from either Real Madrid or Valverde regarding the alleged incident. If Baena decides to pursue the matter legally, it could become a lengthy and complicated issue.
