Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has leveled another critique at La Liga referees after weekend’s matches.
The coach has been vocal in publicly challenging decisions against his team in recent months, leading to the former Spanish international serving bans for his touchline conduct.
Xavi has once again criticized La Liga referees.
Xavi has been outspoken in publicly questioning decisions against his team in recent months, resulting in the former Spanish international serving bans for his touchline conduct.
“I’m left with the reflections of Garitano (the Almería coach) and Alfredo Relaño, a very good journalist.” Said Xavi on the referee situation.
“It’s going to be very difficult to win this league. I already said that in Getafe. I saw things that did not fit right for me.
“There have been many incidents. I remember the Getafe penalty. The incident with Raphinha in Vallecas and the goal in Granada by Joao Felix. We could have six more points.
“These are not excuses. They are realities.”
Xavi’s remarks directly contradict Ancelotti’s approach, as the veteran Italian often refrains from criticizing referees after matches. Additionally, Xavi’s recent comments could pose a problem for him later if La Liga deems them to be in violation of their code of conduct.
