Real Madrid regained the top position in La Liga after securing a 2-1 win against Las Palmas in Gran Canaria.
Los Blancos have been shot to the summit of La Liga after a nervy win against plucky Las Palmas. The first half of the match was closely contested, with both teams struggling to generate many scoring opportunities.
However, the second half witnessed an increase in intensity, with Las Palmas seizing the lead against Real Madrid shortly after the break, as Javi Munoz converted Sandro Ramirez’s outstanding cross.
Real Madrid, initially taken aback and on the verge of their second loss in three matches, managed to level the score shortly afterward. This was made possible by Eduardo Camavinga’s impressive through pass, enabling Vinicius Junior to score. The Brazilian is continuing his superb form of late.
But Ancelotti’s men couldn’t stand idly as the top spot in La Liga was within their grasp. Real Madrid, in their pursuit of a victory, eventually found success late in the game. Toni Kroos delivered a superb corner, and substitute Aurelien Tchouameni made an excellent header to secure the comeback.
With this result, Real Madrid has taken a two-point lead over Girona in the La Liga standings, having played an equal number of matches. However, Girona has the opportunity to reclaim the top spot if they secure a victory against Celta Vigo later in the weekend.
