Ancelotti eases concerns about Antonio Rudiger’s injury before the Madrid derby, stating, “We have two days to get him back.”
Real Madrid secured a 2-0 victory against Getafe, reclaiming the top spot in La Liga. However, Aurelien Tchouameni’s yellow card suspension for the upcoming Madrid derby and Antonio Rudiger’s halftime exit due to an injury, a collision with Mason Greenwood posed challenges for Los Blancos.
Rudiger, a key player for Real Madrid this season, is crucial, especially with Tchouameni suspended. Thankfully, Ancelotti confirmed (via Diario AS) that Rudiger’s injury is a strong blow, indicating he is expected to be available against Atletico Madrid.
“Rudiger, I think, can recover. We have two days to try to get him back, it’s a big blow to the thigh. He is a warrior.” The coach said about Rudiger’s injury.
Ancelotti discussed the disputed penalty decision after the match, resulting in his booking for protesting post-whistle. Despite a perceived foul on Brahim Diaz, both the on-field referee and VAR ruled otherwise.
“I don’t want to talk about this, he gave me a yellow card. We played a good game and we’re top of the table.
“I told him that for me it was a penalty and it wasn’t a card.”
Real Madrid is eager for the German fitness, especially with Nacho Fernandez as the sole recognized center-back option if Rudiger’s injury is serious. The club faces an anxious period in this regard.
