Manchester City open to negotiate with Real Madrid over Yan Couto

Manchester City intends to negotiate Yan Couto’s departure, the Brazilian right-back who is currently playing on loan at Girona, with Real Madrid.

On Saturday, Yan Couto, the Brazilian right-back, began his day with links to Real Madrid and ended it in tears due to their influence.

Despite Vinicius Junior exploiting him, Couto has showcased one of the best performances in Spain this season. He will head back to Manchester City when his loan deal ends in the summer, but a permanent return is not guaranteed.

The 21-year-old is wrapping up the last leg of his two-year loan stint at Girona, during which he earned a call-up to the Brazilian national team this season.

Being one of the most creative wide players in La Liga this season, the connections to Los Blancos would not have come as a shock to those who closely follow his performances.

As per Matteo Moretto’s disclosure on The Daily Briefing, Manchester City might entertain the idea of letting Couto leave this summer. Despite his evident potential, it seems they lack a definite route for him to break into the first team.

With just a year left on his contract, selling him in the upcoming transfer window could be a logical move for them to regain some of his value.

If Couto becomes available this summer, he will likely attract plenty of interest from potential suitors. Although his outing at the Santiago Bernabeu highlighted that he is not flawless defensively, his skill on the ball should be enticing enough for many to consider taking a chance on him.
