Vinicius Junior is the world’s best – Ancelotti

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti declared Vinicius Junior the world’s best after his performance against Girona.

After making a statement in La Liga and widening the gap to five points ahead of the Catalans, Los Blancos now shift their focus to European action against RB Leipzig in Germany. However, Ancelotti fielded questions about Vinicius once more on Monday.

Ancelotti said: “If he achieves that continuity, yes. Vinicius has a lot of quality and puts a lot of intensity into his dribbles and sprints… If he does it consistently during the 90 minutes, it shows because there are rivals who can’t deal with him in the second half.

Vinicius played a pivotal role in their victory over Girona, delivering a stunning goal to break the deadlock and orchestrating an impressive assist for Jude Bellingham. Following that match, Ancelotti encouraged Vinicius to maintain such performances consistently, asserting that when he ‘plays with the attitude’, he is the best in the world.

He also faced questions about Real Madrid’s impressive record, having suffered only two defeats six months into the season. There was speculation that this might be his best season yet, especially following extensive debates about whether it was Toni Kroos’ best season.

Ancelotti added: “As a streak, maybe so… I see a solid, serious, motivated team, with a good atmosphere, no one complains, everyone contributes… Everything is going well at the moment despite so many difficulties we had… It was thanks to character of the players.”

Last year, Ancelotti frequently emphasized that the dressing room was one of the best he had experienced as a manager. During the press conference, he once again highlighted the character of the veterans as a crucial element in facilitating the smooth transition to the younger generation.
