Former Spain boss is tipped to bring Barcelona youngster Gavi to Chelsea if he is appointed as the next Chelsea manager
Chelsea are in search of a new manager after dismissing Graham Potter earlier this month. As an interim solution, the club has appointed Frank Lampard. but they are already looking for a more long-term option.
Lampard will remain in charge until the end of the season while Todd Boehly considers his options for a permanent appointment, with discussions being held with Luis Enrique and ex-Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.
Enrique is seen as having an advantage over Nagelsmann as he has expressed his interest in managing a Premier League team before. The Spaniard was the head coach of Barcelona during a very successful period as well as the Spain national team.
According to Diario AS, reports suggest that Enrique was disappointed about not being appointed as Chelsea manager before their Champions League match against Real Madrid.
Reportedly, Enrique’s potential appointment as Chelsea manager could play a significant role in the club’s interest in signing Gavi during the summer transfer window. Gavi is said to be a fan of Enrique, and the opportunity to work with him again could be appealing to the teenager.
