The veteran midfielder has become the player with the most amount of appearances for Atletico Madrid
Koke has managed to become Atletico Madrid’s all-time appearance holder following their match against Celta Vigo.

Faithful Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has now set a new record for the most league appearances of any player for Atletico Madrid after their Sunday clash with Celta Vigo.
Koke, who has been a part of Atletico Madrid setup since he was 8 years old, managed to make his 402nd appearance for Atleti. He has now overtaken Adelardo Rodriguez, who mostly played in the 60s and 70s.
With 554 appearances for Atletico Madrid, Koke is also the club’s record appearance maker in all competitions. He broke that record back in October.
The 31-year-old’s first appearance for Atletico Madrid was back in 2009 in a 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona. He managed more than 60 games for Atletico Madrid B between 2008 and 2010
A big part of Diego Simeone’s setup at Atletico, Koke has managed to win eight major trophies with Atletico during his 13 years at the top flight. These include two LaLiga titles in 2014 and 2021, while also reaching two Champions League finals.
