Thomas Tuchel might be the next Paris Saint-Germain manager if the under pressure Christophe Galtier is fired
PSG have been on a poor run of form, with the 1-0 loss at Paris to Bayern Munich being the more recent one, and there are reports that manager Galtier might be replaced by Thomas Tuchel.
Will Tuchel go back to PSG?!
PSG board are pondering over who might be the next PSG boss if Galtier’s poor results continue. They might have come to the conclusion that Thomas Tuchel will be their next manager.
Tuchel managed PSG for two and a half years, leading them to two consecutive Ligue 1 titles as well as helping them reach a Champions League final in 2020. Tuchel was sacked halfway through the following season and then immediately took over Chelsea where he won the Champions League in his first season.
However, Tuchel isn’t the only choice to take over PSG as the Emir of Qatar is still keen on Zinedine Zidane as well. Reportedly, Galtier will be given until Champions League’s second leg of last-16 on March 8 to turn things around.
Galtier himself admitted that his team wasn’t at full strength after the 1-0 Bayern Munich loss.
“Obviously there is a disappointment but we all knew that there would be no qualification or elimination tonight,” Galtier said after the game. “We will see in three weeks what state our squad will be in, if we will have recovered freshness and the players we are missing to play a full match at the level of the last half hour played this evening.”
