Di Maria thinks that PSG has handed too much responsibility to Kylian Mbappe, overlooking the presence of Lionel Messi
PSG’s former Argentinian star Angel Di Maria claims that PSG hierarchy handed too much responsibility to Kylian Mbappe without taking into account the presence of someone like Lionel Messi.
Di Maria claims Mbappe has ‘all the power’
Di Maria continued to say that not only PSG but France, in General, has put too much on Mbappe’s shoulders.
Speaking to ESPN Argentina, Di Maria said: “I think France in general have given Mbappe a lot of responsibility. The people, the president, PSG. They made him stay when he could have left and gave him all the power to be him and no one else. But there’s a big difference, they gave him all that power with the best in history [Messi] next to him.
“I think they gave him all that power and strength because he’s French, he was born there, won a World Cup and has an extraordinary career ahead of him. But all that aside, when I was at PSG he was a good boy and I don’t think he’s changed so much.”
“I think France in general have given Mbappe a lot of responsibility.“
The 24-year-old French striker recently won the Golden Boot in the 2022 World Cup, helping his team to second place. He was the subject of a transfer saga involving PSG and Real Madrid but ultimately French president Macron dissuaded him from leaving Paris.
