PSG leave out Mbappe from their squad for the pre-season tour with Madrid move looming

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has excluded Kylian Mbappe from their squad for the pre-season tour of Japan, fanning the rumors of his departure.

According to L’Equipe, PSG firmly believes that Mbappe has already arranged a deal to join Real Madrid on a free transfer when the season concludes. As a result, PSG is not willing to let the 24-year-old play for the club again and is actively making him available for potential buyers and have excluded him from their pre-season tour.

Mbappe has consistently expressed his intention not to extend his contract beyond its expiration next summer.

PSG wants to avoid losing the France captain without a transfer fee and will now seek to recover at least some of the €180 million (£166m/$194m) they initially spent on Mbappe in 2017.

Additionally, Madrid is expected to be one of the interested parties in securing Mbappe’s services. Los Blancos currently lack a recognized striker in their squad for this season, following Karim Benzema’s departure to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad last month. According to The Athletic, several clubs have shown interest in signing Mbappe.

PSG will field offers for the player, who now seems certain to be playing away from Parc des Princes next season.
