Luis Enrique warns Mbappe and PSG outcasts that ‘club is above everything’

Luis Enrique has emphasized that the “club is above everything,” indicating that Kylian Mbappe’s exclusion will persist leading up to PSG’s Ligue 1 kickoff against Lorient.

Mbappe, along with Julien Draxler, Gini Wijnaldum, and Leandro Paredes, has been undergoing separate training from Enrique’s main squad. The Spanish manager has now essentially confirmed that Mbappe won’t be part of PSG‘s Ligue 1 opener against Lorient.

Despite this, Enrique hopes that the 2018 World Cup champion will find a favorable resolution to enable his return to play at Parc des Princes.

“I hope and wish that, just like in the past [last summer], the same thing will happen again, and that the club and the player can reach an agreement. That’s what I would like. The philosophy of this club is very clear: that the club is above everything and I share it 100 per cent,” he told reporters.

PSG has communicated to prominent players such as Neymar, Marco Verratti, Hugo Ekitike, Juan Bernat, and Renato Sanches that they are surplus to requirements and are welcome to explore new opportunities elsewhere.
