Zidane might make a comeback to football with a €300 million package offer

Zinedine Zidane has been without a managerial role since leaving Real Madrid at the end of the 2020-21 season.

While there have been offers for Zinedine Zidane to come back to coaching, the French legend has declined all offers. Now, he has agreed to take charge of his childhood club, Olympique Marseille, which is currently searching for a new manager following Marcelino’s abrupt departure after just a few matches in charge.

However, Zidane’s appointment at Marseille is not a straightforward process. He has reached an agreement with the Saudi Arabian consortium attempting to acquire the Ligue 1 club, as reported by France Bleu, but he has not finalized terms with the current owner, Frank McCourt.

The Saudis have reportedly promised Zidane a €300 million package to lead Marseille, contingent on their successful acquisition of the club, despite McCourt’s previous statements indicating his lack of intention to sell.

While Zidane has been close to a return to Real Madrid multiple times since his departure in 2021, it now appears more likely that he will resume his managerial career elsewhere.
