Enrique wants PSG to be cautious against Brest

Luis Enrique has warned Paris St Germain advising them not to become overly confident when facing surprise package Brest in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Luis Enrique stressed that PSG should not fall into the “trap” of overconfidence against Brest just because they convincingly defeated AC Milan in the midweek Champions League match.

Following their unexpected loss to Newcastle in the previous round of the Champions League, PSG responded with a dominant 3-0 victory over AC Milan, taking control of their challenging group at the midway point.

While PSG has won three of their last four league matches, a victory at Stade Francis-Le Ble would only bring them within one point of the league leaders, Nice. Therefore, Enrique is approaching this assignment with great seriousness.

He told reporters: “Every match is a trap but this one might especially be one because of the kick-off time of 1pm (12pm GMT). We’ve never played at that time before.

“We’re also away from home and there are reasons why we might not be focused, so there are things we need to be wary of.

“They’re a team who defend well and put in a lot of crosses. It will be tricky, especially after a Champions League match. We have to be very careful.

“I’ve seen their ground and it’s like an English stadium with stands close to the pitch. The schedule is unusual but we have to be able to overcome that, too.”

Marquinhos is out with an adductor injury, while Layvin Kurzawa is unavailable due to illness. Keylor Navas is dealing with a back problem, and Marco Asensio, Presnel Kimpembe, and Nuno Mendes are also unavailable due to injuries.
