Chelsea set to appoint Pochettino as manager

Reports suggest that Chelsea are close to finalizing the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as their manager.

Various media outlets have reported that the Blues have reached an agreement with the former Tottenham boss on Saturday evening.

At the end of this season, the 51-year-old Argentinian would replace interim manager Frank Lampard.

Chelsea have not confirmed the reports, and the PA news agency has contacted them for clarification.

After sacking Graham Potter in April due to a string of poor performances, Chelsea is searching for a new permanent manager.

Although Lampard was hired as a temporary replacement, the team’s struggles have persisted, and they are currently in 11th place in the Premier League.

Pochettino have been out of a job after departing from Paris St Germain last summer, leading Tottenham to the 2019 Champions League final before being fired later that year.
