Tottenham Hotspur is prepared to negotiate a deal with Leicester City for James Maddison, but the club is currently hesitant about the asking price set by the Foxes.
According to The Telegraph, an offer is being prepared by Tottenham Hotspur for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, as the club aims to assemble a team under the guidance of new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
The reports say that the North London club is wary about matching the Foxes’ requested fee of £60 million ($76m).
Reportedly, Spurs are prepared to present an offer of £40 million ($51m) for James Maddison, including additional payments and structured installments as part of the agreement.
While Newcastle United has expressed interest in the midfielder, their recent signing of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan suggests they may withdraw from pursuing Maddison.
Tottenham will be hopeful of reaching an agreement for the midfielder soon as the Foxes have already started their pre-season training for their season in the Championship.
