According to reports, Brentford is set to break their transfer record by signing Nathan Collins from Wolves.
The 22-year-old Irish international, who joined Wolves from Burnley last year for approximately £20m, will undergo a medical with Brentford in the coming days.
This signing will surpass the previous record fee paid for Kevin Schade and solidify Collins as Brentford’s most expensive acquisition ever.
Brentford has been actively pursuing a center-back this summer as they aim to improve upon their ninth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
Meanwhile, Wolves have reportedly turned down a £30.5m offer from Napoli for another one of their center-backs, Max Kilman, as they hold out for a higher bid.
Collins is a center-back and has represented both Stoke City and Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) in his career. Collins joined Wolves from Burnley in 2020. He has also earned international caps for the Republic of Ireland national team.
