Lewis Dunk extends his contract with Brighton for another three years

The long-serving Brighton captain Lewis Dunk has committed to a new three-year contract with the Premier League club.

During the 2022-23 season, the academy graduate surpassed the 400-appearance milestone and helped his team achieve a sixth-placed finish, securing qualification for the Europa League.

Dunk’s previous contract with Brighton was set to expire in two years, but he has thrived under Roberto De Zerbi and will now remain with the club until 2026.

De Zerbi said: “Long live the captain!

“I’m really happy he has signed this new contract. It’s good news for Lewis and the club.”

During the last weeks of the previous season, center-back Lewis Dunk received repeated praise from his manager for his dedication, as he played through pain to help Brighton qualify for the Europa League.

As a result, he had to withdraw from the England squad for their qualifiers in June. lewis Dunk has been a critical player for Brighton since making his debut in 2010, contributing to their journey from Sky Bet League One through the Championship to the Premier League.

In 2025, the 31-year-old signed a five-year contract with his boyhood club. However, these new terms will prolong his affiliation with the same team.

He has expressed his desire to conclude his career as a player who has only played for one club.
