Jay Z interested in Tottenham takeover

Rap superstar Jay Z has shown interest in taking over Tottenham, valuing the Premier League giants at approximately £2 billion.

Due to facing charges of fraud and insider trading in the United States, Joe Lewis, the current owner of Spurs, may relinquish ownership of the north London club. Last week, he appeared in a New York court where he denied 16 counts of securities fraud and three additional charges of conspiracy linked to insider trading offenses that occurred between 2013 and 2021.

Although Lewis has been released on bail, people anticipate that he will stand trial later this year.

As the saga continues, talks of a potential sale have emerged at Spurs. There are indications that Jay Z, who possesses a personal fortune of $2.5 billion, might spearhead a group of American investors interested in acquiring a team in English football.

Previously Jay-Z showed interest in buying a stake in Arsenal

With impression by Thierry Henry, who is his favorite soccer player, the 53-year-old New York native had previously showed interest in buying a stake in Arsenal.

Shawn Carter, widely known as Jay Z, has shifted his focus to Tottenham. An associate of the iconic figure behind “99 Problems” and “Empire State of Mind” has expressed interest in the club.

He told Daily Express US: “More than a few of the very top clubs there – like Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea – are now under US ownership and Jay would jump at the chance of a controlling interest at board level somewhere with the global reach of Spurs. It remains to be seen whether Mr Lewis will walk away free. If he doesn’t, Jay has said he wants to be in a position to move quickly if he feels the price is right.”

Currently holding the position of co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets NBA franchise, Jay Z, who married to fellow music icon Beyoncé and boasts her own fortune of $540 million.
