Chelsea has confirmed that they have acquired goalkeeper Robert Sanchez from Premier League side Brighton.
In a move to reinforce their goalkeeping department following Edouard Mendy’s departure this summer, Chelsea has signed Sanchez from Brighton.
The stopper has committed to a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge and will strive to compete with Kepa Arrizabalaga for the No. 1 spot.
Robert Sanchez was close to Man United but he chose Blues
In what has been a bustling summer for Chelsea, Robert Sanchez becomes the latest addition to their squad. The goalkeeper is already familiar with Levi Colwill and Marc Cucurella, having previously played together at Brighton.
Additionally, he has prior experience working with Kepa from their time together in the Spain national team.
Sanchez will now be joining Chelsea and getting ready for the start of the Premier League campaign. Manchester United monitored his situation in case of failing to sign Onana but in the end, they signed the Cameroonian goelie.
The Blues are set to kick off their season at Stamford Bridge against Liverpool on the opening weekend.
