Manchester City eye Florian Wirtz as a replacement for the injured De Bruyne

Manchester City have expressed interest in acquiring the services of Bayer Leverkusen’s promising talent Florian Wirtz.

Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto has indicated that City has “made inquiries regarding the situation” of Florian Wirtz.

The 20-year-old midfielder Florian Wirtz is enthusiastic about the prospect of working with Guardiola, although orchestrating his transfer would pose a challenge.

With the confirmation of Kevin de Bruyne’s absence due to a significant hamstring injury for approximately five months, City is intensifying their pursuit of a new attacking midfielder.

Wirtz is among the emerging stars of European football and could potentially serve as a long-term successor to De Bruyne. His versatility also positions him as a potential replacement for the departed right winger Riyad Mahrez, should the need arise on the right flank.
