Villarreal has turned down Manchester United’s attempt to secure the services of their left-back Alfonso Pedraza.
Due to injuries sustained by Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, Manchester United is seeking a left full-back.
As part of their search, they had Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella on their radar. Additionally, it’s been reported that Manchester United contacted Villarreal with a loan proposal to sign Pedraza. However, Villarreal, as per Marca, rejected the offer.
The Spanish club considers the 27-year-old full-back to be an essential component of their team and has firmly decided not to permit his departure during this summer.
Pedraza helped with two assists in a recent exciting match where Villarreal faced Barcelona, ultimately resulting in a 4-3 victory for the Catalan side.
Since the attempt to acquire Pedraza was turned down, Manchester United is now inclined to intensify their pursuit of Cucurella and finalize the agreement before the transfer window ends on Friday.
