Former center-back William Gallas predicts that Kai Havertz’s £65 million ($81 million) transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal will end in disappointment.
Gallas asserts that Havertz is encountering difficulties at the Gunners and believes that their style of play differs too significantly from Chelsea’s for him to thrive at the Emirates. So far, the 24-year-old has participated in three Premier League matches but has not registered a goal or an assist, and Gallas questions his suitability for the team.
Speaking to Gambling Zone, Gallas said: “At the moment Havertz isn’t performing. I was surprised to see him go to Arsenal. They could have got another player. It is difficult for him to find the right position. How Arsenal play is not the same as Chelsea – it’s hard for him at the moment. I don’t think he is going to be a success at Arsenal.”
During his time at Chelsea, the playmaker amassed 139 appearances and contributed to 47 goals through his own scoring and assists, operating in various positions ranging from attacking midfield to striker. However, it remains uncertain whether he will be able to adapt to the style of play in north London.
