Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag confirmed that summer transfers are ‘already in the background’ and that it’s an ongoing process
Ten Hag aims to bolster his team during the summer transfer window and has stated that the 7-0 defeat to Liverpool in their previous Premier League outing has not impacted his plans. The coach believes his team has already put that game behind them and is now concentrating on their upcoming match against Southampton on Sunday.
ten Hag opens up about the ‘continuing process’ of rebuilding the squad
“There is a continuing process and it’s already in the background. At the moment, the main focus is game-to-game. The first game is always the most important and that’s Southampton on Sunday,” ten Hag said.
“We are not looking over our shoulders. We have to focus on our process and what others are doing is not for us. But every player has to improve. United have to win and do that game after game.”
After their loss to Liverpool in the Premier League, Ten Hag’s team recovered well and won 4-1 against Real Betis in the first leg of their Europa League tie.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are targeting two major signings in the summer transfer window, with a new striker as their top priority. They will also aim to win the Europa League to add to their Carabao Cup triumph.
