David De Gea meets up with old teammate Bruno Fernandes amid retirement rumors

David De Gea and his former Manchester United teammate, Bruno Fernandes, reunited to showcase the new kit for De Gea’s eSports team.

The Spanish goalkeeper, who left Manchester United after his contract expired at the end of the 2022-23 season, shared a photo on his Instagram featuring himself and Fernandes wearing the new eSports team kit, captioning the post with “Together again.”

David De Gea found his eSports team, ‘Rebels Gaming,’ in 2021. The team has competed in various tournaments, including League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant.

In 2022, Bruno Fernandes and former Manchester United player Juan Mata joined as shareholders. The team’s newly unveiled kit, known as ‘The Red Spike,’ will be available for purchase at approximately £48 upon its official release.

Despite being a free agent, David De Gea remains without a confirmed club, as potential transfers to Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Saudi Pro League teams failed to materialize during the summer transfer window.

There have been speculations that De Gea might consider retiring from professional football if he doesn’t receive an offer to become the first-choice goalkeeper at a top club in the upcoming weeks.
