Jadon Sancho reportedly considering mending his relationship with Erik ten Hag

Jadon Sancho considers the possibility of reconciling with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag not out of the question, despite his exclusion from the first-team.

Erik ten Hag omitted Sancho from the squad that suffered a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in early September. After refuting claims that his training performances were subpar, the former Borussia Dortmund star accused his manager of making him a ‘scapegoat’ for the team’s poor start to the season.

Since then, Sancho has remained excluded from the first-team, and United may explore selling him in January. However, there could be a potential development in this situation, as Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth suggests that the 23-year-old believes a truce with Ten Hag is “within the realm of possibility.”

As of now, there has been “no progress” on this front. Sheth also noted that Sancho’s mood is “as good as can be expected, considering the circumstances.”

Sancho‘s acquisition by Manchester United in 2021 came at a substantial transfer fee of £73 million ($91 million), but he has failed to meet the high expectations. During his 58 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, he has only managed to score nine goals and provide six assists.

In contrast, during his time at Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, he scored 38 goals and contributed 51 assists in 104 games. Considering this, a January departure might be the most favorable outcome for everyone.
