Tim Sherwood boldly advises Rashford to go to Man City just like Carlos Tevez

Tim Sherwood suggests that Marcus Rashford would adapt well to Manchester City’s playing style under Pep Guardiola.

Former Tottenham player Tim Sherwood believes that Guardiola would utilize Man United striker Marcus Rashford effectively if a transfer agreement could be reached. He mentions that the last noteworthy player transfer between the two Manchester clubs was Carlos Tevez, who left United as a free agent before joining City.

Rashford has encountered difficulties this season and has scored only one competitive goal. Since then, he has gone six league games without contributing to a goal, with mixed results for Manchester United.

Rashford’s performance this season has been challenging, having scored just one competitive goal during Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in September. In the subsequent six league games, he has not scored or assisted any goals. United’s results have been mixed, with three wins and three losses during this period.

Sherwood told William Hill: “In my opinion Marcus Rashford is good enough to play for Manchester City, but having watched him for Manchester United over the past few months I’d be called crazy for that. I believe that he is good enough to play for City and that Pep Guardiola would take him. He would work with him and he would play him exactly how he needs to be played. When he plays for England he doesn’t play badly.

“He needs people playing in and around him giving him the ball in the correct areas. He gets some criticism for not tracking back but if he’s not getting the ball when he’s forward, why would he be willing to do that? If you keep giving him the ball in the correct areas then he’ll put a shift and for the team and Guardiola would make sure of that.”
