Erik ten Hag confirmed that a blow Casemiro sustained during the match against Newcastle United will keep the midfielder out of action for the upcoming set of games.
Casemiro experienced a new injury setback in his return to play against Newcastle United, having previously recovered from an ankle injury he suffered during the October international break.
Ten Hag appointed Casemiro as the captain in place of the rested Bruno Fernandes. Nevertheless, despite his presence, the Red Devils suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Magpies in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford.
Casemiro only lasted 45 minutes, with Ten Hag confirming to reporters after the match that he had to replace him due to a knock: “He was injured. Just before halftime, that is why we had to take him off.”
When asked for a timeframe for Casemiro’s return, ten Hag added: “I can’t give an answer; we have to wait 24 hours, but I think definitely for Saturday he is out.”
Casemiro won’t be available for the match against Fulham on Saturday, and his return for the two fixtures against FC Copenhagen and Luton on November 9 and 11, respectively, before the international break, is now in doubt.
