Pep Guardiola conceded the need for change at Man City to get back to winning ways after their third Premier League defeat of the season.
A deflected effort by Leon Bailey at Villa Park led to a 1-0 loss for the defending champions, extending their winless run to four matches. Man City currently hold the fourth spot in the table, six points behind leaders Arsenal and just three ahead of rivals United.
Pep Guardiola acknowledged Aston Villa‘s credit for the victory but noted his team’s failure to win a match that, in previous years, he believes they would have. Despite any squad issues, the manager squarely places the responsibility for finding a solution on his own shoulders.
“It’s my duty. My job to find a way to come back the situation. Because over many years together we were able to find a way to play games. Sometimes playing good, sometimes not but always we found a way to do it. And now we are struggling.” Pep Guardiola said. “We have to change the dynamic, winning as soon as possible against Luton and Crystal Palace to continue to be there.
“I have to think about it. The dynamic changes by winning games but to win games we have to reflect what we have to do with the players that we have.
“The way we played in the past we won but today we are not able. When we are not top, we are not consistent enough to win the games.
“I have to think about it. I have to sleep, to see the games, to reflect, and try to do it.
