Mohamed Salah has cautioned Liverpool’s opponents in both domestic and European competitions that a lack of silverware will fuel their determination and desire to achieve success in the following season.
Mohamed Salah has stated that Liverpool will be more motivated to win trophies in the next season after a disappointing 2022-23 campaign, where they failed to win any of the competitions they were competing in.
Despite being in contention for four trophies last season, the team has struggled to maintain consistency and has dropped out of the title race in the Premier League, as well as the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Champions League.
Salah speaks of a ‘tough season’
The humbling experience of this season will fuel their determination to succeed and get back on the path to winning titles, according to Salah.
The Egyptian forward has told BT Sport of failing to add to his medal collection in 2023: “It will make us more hungry next season. It’s tough this season to feel you are out of all competitions, but this is football and we have to accept it. We need to bounce back next season, that is the best way.”
Salah has been contributing to Liverpool’s performance this season, having scored 23 goals in all competitions.
This has resulted in him surpassing Robbie Fowler as the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer for Liverpool.
Although there have been some rumors regarding Mohamed Salah’s future, he signed a new contract last summer and it is widely believed that he will return to lead Liverpool in the next season.
Klopp’s team will likely add some new players during the transfer window to support their next charge.
