Chelsea plans €40M bid for Artem Dovbyk from Girona

Reports suggest that Chelsea intends to make a €40 million offer to Girona for the acquisition of Artem Dovbyk.

This season, Girona emerged as the breakout team in La Liga, currently sharing the top spot on the table with Real Madrid.

While Jude Bellingham has often been the key player for Los Blancos, Artem Dovbyk, the second most effective player in La Liga after the Englishman, has captured the attention of Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.

With 11 goals and 5 assists in 17 appearances for Girona this season, the formidable Ukrainian striker has drawn the attention of Mauricio Pochettino, according to The Mirror.

Pochettino is considering Dovbyk as one of the options to bolster their forward line in January, and the club has been actively scouting him throughout the season.

Certainly, Dovbyk has proven to be among the top performers in La Liga this season, displaying exceptional skills in connecting with teammates, precise finishing, and embodying the role of a target man.

Atletico Madrid is also expressing interest in Dovbyk. Despite Dovbyk’s established history of scoring in Ukraine and the seeming sustainability of his current form, it would mark the second consecutive transfer window for Chelsea to acquire a forward based on a strong half-season performance in La Liga.

This follows the signing of Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal in the previous season.
