Marco Silva lauded De Cordova-Reid as a “top professional,” asserting he deserves recent success for his sole goal in Fulham’s win over Rotherham.
De Cordova-Reid made the difference on the night with a stunning long-range goal in the 24th minute, marking his second consecutive goal in as many games, following his winner in Fulham‘s 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League.
Silva, who had earlier praised De Cordova-Reid’s leadership, now believes that his goal will boost confidence after he scored his fifth goal of the season.
Marco Silva said: “He deserves it because he’s a top professional, he’s a vocal guy and one of the great examples we have at the club in terms of focus, able to play in any position and he’s always there.
“It’s important for us and him because he needs these type of moments to lift his confidence and he needs the confidence to keep going in the direction we want him to be.
“Bobby has the capacity to score and tonight it was a great strike from him.”
In December, Fulham participated in eight matches, and they are set to face a hectic January schedule, including a Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool later this month. Silva attributed his team’s recent efforts and acknowledged the upcoming busy weeks.
