Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly finding it challenging to address the issue of agent briefings at Old Trafford.
According to The Athletic‘s Andy Mitten Man United leaks, which were prevalent during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure, continue to be a concern for Ten Hag, with agents providing information from their clients’ perspectives.
While Ten Hag is facing a situation similar to that of Solskjaer, reports suggesting that he has “lost the dressing room” are deemed inaccurate, as some senior players at the club still support the Dutchman.
He wrote: “Some of the PRs are really not in tune with the mood on the street. They think that because they have a United player as a client they’re dealing with peak Lionel Messi, not someone linked to a side struggling to string consecutive wins together.”
Manchester United’s recent form has been disappointing, with only one victory in their last four Premier League matches.
This has placed them in eighth position in the table, trailing by nine points from the fourth spot occupied by Arsenal and 14 points behind the league leaders, Liverpool. The year concluded on a low note for United with a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Their upcoming match in the FA Cup against Wigan Athletic on Monday poses a potential challenge, and a defeat would be a significant setback, leading to their elimination from the only remaining cup competition for Manchester United.
