Dane Rashford, the brother of Manchester United star Marcus, saw a domestic abuse charge against him reportedly “dismissed” after being arrested in Miami.
Dane Rashford, a registered agent with the Football Association, was arrested on October 20 in Miami Beach, Florida, and charged with misdemeanor battery, also classified as domestic violence, on October 24.
However, his lawyer, Alex Spiro, has stated that the charge was “dismissed” before reaching court, attributing the arrest and charge to a “misunderstanding.”
“There have been numerous reports about Dane Rashford, the brother of Manchester United and England footballer, Marcus Rashford, being arrested in Florida last year,” he said.
“We want to make it very clear that the charges were quickly dismissed and Mr Rashford did not even have to appear in court. He and his partner are pleased that this misunderstanding is now firmly behind them.”
The 31-year-old is a director at DN May Sports Management, an agency that represents Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
However, it’s worth noting that Marcus is managed by another brother, Dwaine Maynard, who is also a registered FA agent. Dwaine Maynard was listed on the official FA paperwork for Marcus’s last two contracts with the team.
When The Telegraph reached out to Dane Rashford for details about the case at the time, he chose not to provide any comments. Manchester United has also refrained from commenting on the situation. It is understood that the Rashford family believed the matter had been resolved.
