Galatasaray is reportedly actively pursuing a transfer deal for Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen before the Turkish deadline on Friday.
The Denmark international Christian Eriksen who has been out of action since the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw against Tottenham in mid-January, has become a target of interest for Galatasaray as the winter transfer window continues in Turkey.
According to Turkish publication Fotomac (via Sports Witness), Galatasaray considers Eriksen its main target for the remaining duration of the transfer market, and there are ongoing talks, not-so-secret, between the two clubs and the player.
Galatasaray aims to secure a loan deal for the 31-year-old until the end of the current campaign, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
According to Fotomac, if the transfer is concluded, Eriksen will immediately join the Turkish club, although the specific fee remains undisclosed.
Alternatively, if the deal is not finalized before the winter deadline, discussions may continue for a potential move in the summer. Eriksen, with a contract expiring in 2025, has participated in 19 matches this season, contributing with one goal and two assists.
Eriksen has achieved legendary status in the footballing world by making a remarkable comeback to the sport after experiencing a cardiac arrest on the field during the 2021 European Championship. Following resuscitation, he made a full recovery and returned to play nearly 18 months later.
