Rio Ferdinand mocked by Arsenal fans on a plane for bizarre Saka comments

Arsenal fans sang chants directed at Rio Ferdinand on a flight to Porto, responding to his recent statement about Bukayo Saka not being world-class.

Just a week prior, the former Manchester United legend and pundit, Rio Ferdinand, had expressed his opinion that Bukayo Saka hadn’t proven himself to be a world-class player, especially in the context of the Champions League.

As Ferdinand traveled to cover Arsenal’s Champions League match against FC Porto for TNT Sports on Tuesday, he found himself on the same flight as a group of Arsenal fans. They seized the opportunity to taunt him with chants of “Saka’s world-class” upon recognizing him onboard.

Taking the chants in good spirits, the former England international engaged with the fans by responding to them through the flight interphone system.

He cheekily replied: “I just wanna say, it’s an absolute pleasure to travel with you Arsenal fans. I must say Saka is a fantastic player, just not world-class yet. He will be one day but just not yet.”

In his recent performances, the 22-year-old Arsenal winger has been in exceptional form, scoring six goals in his last four Premier League matches. This includes scoring two goals each in the team’s recent victories over West Ham and Burnley. Throughout the season, Saka has contributed a total of 15 goals in 32 matches across all competitions and has also provided 13 assists.
