Jurgen Klopp: We must keep winning football games!

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes that their current position as Premier League leaders sends a strong message, but he acknowledges the precariousness of the situation.

Liverpool holds a one-point lead over Manchester City and a two-point lead over third-placed Arsenal. Klopp conceded that maintaining their winning streak is crucial to staying ahead of the competition, especially with injuries plaguing his squad.

There are similarities to two years ago when Liverpool also had 60 points after 26 matches. However, they were three points behind City at that time and were pursuing another quadruple.

On that occasion, they secured a domestic cup double but fell short in the league, finishing as runners-up by a point on 92 and losing the Champions League final.

Nevertheless, Klopp emphasized that the two campaigns are not comparable, especially with 10 first-team players currently sidelined.

“It is only one point above City and two points above Arsenal but that means nothing,” he said.

“Sixty points is a statement for that moment in the season but stay on 60 and I am not sure you qualify for the Champions League to be honest so we had better continue winning football games.

“It was a much more comfortable squad situation (two years ago). As far as I remember we could make massive changes between competitions.

“You cannot really compare it but it showed us you can fight for everything and win something.

“Some people will be happy with that and some will tell you it was not enough but for us, it was a successful season and let’s hope we can make a successful season out of this one.”

Jurgen Klopp also had some hopeful news about Liverpool’s long list of injuries and Salah, Nunez’s fitness.
